Integration blocks
Add external maps, files, and embeds to entries and display their delivery values.
An integration block adds a location, file, or external content to an entry. Add an "Integration block" field to the API schema, and you can choose a service in the editor. If you set a service in the field settings, the field accepts only that service. If you leave it empty, you choose a service for each entry.
Supported services
| Service | Input in the editor | Delivery value |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Search and select a location on the map | Location information and embedUrl |
| Google Drive | Connect your account and select a file | File name, original URL, ID, and more |
| Dropbox | Connect your account and select a file | File name and ID. No public sharing URL is created |
| YouTube | Enter a video URL | Normalized URL and embedUrl |
| X | Enter a post URL | Normalized URL. No embedUrl |
| Figma | Enter a design URL | Normalized URL and embedUrl |
| CodePen | Enter a Pen URL | Normalized URL and embedUrl |
| CodeSandbox | Enter a Sandbox or Devbox URL | Normalized URL and embedUrl |
For YouTube, X, Figma, CodePen, and CodeSandbox, enter the URL of the public page and select "Embed". Check the preview in the editor before you save the entry. To change the URL later, select "Change". To remove it, select "Deselect". If the URL is not in a supported format, it is not added to the block and an error appears in the input field.
For Google Maps, pick a location on the map. For Google Drive and Dropbox, use the connect button that appears, then select your file. If you cannot connect or select a file, check your browser's pop-up settings and your access rights in the source service.
Display on your site
The delivery API returns the selected service as provider. If embedUrl is a string, you can use it in an iframe once you have checked that your site allows that service. X posts show a preview widget in the editor, but the delivery value has no iframe URL. On your site, show the post as a link or use X's own embed feature.
Whether visitors can open a Google Drive file depends on the sharing settings of the original file. Dropbox does not create public sharing links automatically, and the editor shows a preview for the connected account. To make a file public, check its sharing settings in the source service and how your site displays it. Saving it in genko.me does not change who can view a private file.
